Definition of Boyle's Law

Boyle’s Law is one of the gas laws that explain the relationship between the pressure and volume of a gas under study. It states that the pressure of a gas increases when there is a decrease in the volume of the container in which it is kept.

The modern statement regarding Boyle’s law states that the total pressure that is being exerted by a given mass of a gas, which tends to be ideal in nature is inversely proportional to the volume occupied by it. The temperature and the number of moles of the gas are kept constant.

P α V

PV = k (when T and n are constant)
