Definition of Critical Path Method

Critical Path Method is a project management technique developed in the 1950s. This technique is used by project managers to evaluate the timeline of the project and set actual deadlines accordingly. In the critical path method, each task of the project is mapped out and interdependences of tasks are to find out.

In project management, the critical path is the longest distance between the start and finish of the task which includes every task in it. Critical path analysis helps managers to map out every important task that must be performed for the successful completion of the project by the due deadline.
