Definition of Deposition

A deposition is the specific behaviour of asking a witness in the courtroom or even outside the premises to gather the required details. It is mostly used to gather the information during the trial in the trial court.

Deposition simply means where the lawyer asks or gather the required information to get the result during cross-examination within the court or if outside, i.e. outside court settlement process by the trial court.

The main cause of getting the information from the witness during deposition is to find what the witness knows. Therefore due to that, both parties got to know the actual facts given during the trial.
