Definition of Illusory Promise

The promise which is unenforceable because these promises are based on hopes. Courts cannot take these promises legally bound as these promises are not enforceable by the courts.

Illusory promises are used in the law of contracts and are not enforceable because giving promise on hope has no legal effect by the courts. These promises are made by one party to another but these are based on illusions so they are uncertain in the eye of courts. These promises sometimes held by courts as misrepresentation done by one party to the other party.
