Definition of Ph Scale

The scale which determines the level of acidity is termed the pH scale. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. Those substances which have a pH of less than seven are acidic in nature. On the contrary, those substances which have a pH greater than 7 are basic. The substance corresponding to zero pH is the most acidic whereas that which corresponds to 14 is the most basic substance.

Water has a pH of 7 which shows that it is neither acidic nor basic but neutral. The pH can be measured with the help of litmus paper and there are many other high-tech devices to that help in the easy determination of pH.
