Definition of Rnase

A number of enzymes are used in the molecular and biochemical reactions, one of them is RNase or ribonuclease. The RNase belongs to a broad class of enzymes that are RNA-degrading. These enzymes are present in all organisms and are widely common in the environment.

The RNase are the enzymes that are commonly employed in the field of molecular biology to remove and degrade the RNA from DNA and protein samples. The most common subclasses of the RNase that are used in molecular biology are RNase A and RNase H. In the case of nuclease protection assays, the unhybridized RNA is cleaved by the addition of these RNase.
