Definition of Systematic Sampling

Systematic sampling is a probability sampling method where the research selects the elements from the entire population by choosing a random starting point and select sample members after a regular fixed interval.

The intervals in systematic sampling are determined by dividing the entire population size by the sample size you want to choose.

Systematic sampling help researchers to quickly develop a sample size for their research by choosing the starting point in advance. The sample chosen by this technique represents the entire population due to its randomness. This also helps in reducing the risk of data manipulation. If the research increases the interval length to achieve desired results, the use of simple random sampling is a better choice.
